Bonfire Night

Remember remember the 5th of November,
Gun powder treason and plot.
I see no reason why gun powder, treason should ever be forgot!

I remember learning this rhyme at school after learning all about Guy Fawkes, I thought it was really interesting but then I am a bit of a history geek! I wonder if many younger people know about the history behind bonfire night? Due to bonfire nigh being during the week this year I suspect many will have been to bonfires over the weekend. We had a small fire on Saturday night and watched other peoples fireworks going off over Stalybridge – it was quite a show. It was a little chilly so I wore a snuggle Joules hat I purchased last year, it did the trick and I was snug as a bug.
