Halloween Treats

Darker nights, shorter days and colder weather – Autumn has definitely arrived. Although its that cold you could mistake it for Winter! The clocks went back last weekend, with in my opinion the only benefit being an extra hour in bed:) Many will already be thinking to the range of festivities ahead with the first being Halloween. Whether you like Halloween or not, its a event that seems to be growing in popularity each year. Halloween or All Hallows Eve as its known is celebrated on the 31st October. Halloween traditions date back to the Celtics harvest festivals, known as Samhain. Samhain market the end of the harvest and the start of the darker months. Today Halloween is marked by children dressing up and trick or treating. People decorate their homes and carve pumpkins.  I recently came  across the Irish legend of Stringy Jack a drunkard who bargains with Satan and is doomed to roam the Earth with only a hollowed turnip to light his way. Now if you prefer a more subtle look to your Halloween decorations, then our fabulous sparkly pumpkins are just the ticket https://magpiesnest.co.uk/product/small-glitzy-pumpkin/  If fancy dress is not your thing either, then a seasonal scarf is a great way to join in with out covering yourself in fake blood! Plus they are surprisingly warm too! https://magpiesnest.co.uk/product/spooky-halloween-pumpkin-face-scarf/ Whatever your plans for Halloweeen I hope its full of treats and no tricks! Liz x
