Rainbow Friday.. Supporting your Independent Makers, Creatives & Shops!

This week we have been taking part in the Just a card campaign,https://www.justacard.org/ the idea is simply to raise awareness and remind people to support their local makers, creatives and independent shops. This week when many people get into a frenzy, camping outside stores for Black Friday deals we wanted to create a rainbow of independent loveliness. Yes it’s great to get a deal, but for many small independent shops, we simply can’t do the sort of crazy deals that the big shops offer. We stock big brands which we buy directly from the brands. The problem we have is that we don’t buy in anything like large enough quantities to be able to profitably discount like the big chains.  We also pay for our stock up front, unlike many of the big stores who have sale or return deals with brands. We employ local people, and we pay local taxes.
