Carnivals, Awards, and new scents

Can you believe a month has passed since I last sent you all a monthly newsletter? Where does the time go?! The last month has flown by, and we have had plenty to keep us busy!

The start of last month saw me having a few meetings with some new suppliers, and I am delighted to share that we will be able to bring you some additional products to the nest in September when we unveil our Autumn / Winter Collections.

Festival Weekend

What a fantastic weekend we had on the 27th & 28th June for the Stalybridge Festival Weekend, an absolutely brilliant day for people to come into the town and enjoy what was on offer. We of course changed our window to get into the carnival theme, and had a challenging time getting an elephant to balance on a ball with a handbag on its trunk! However we are pleased with the results and hope you all like and enjoy it.

On Sunday 28th June we entered Nesta the magmobile into the carnival, with the theme “Magpies Secret Garden” We had a great day and were lucky to have won 1st place for our category – local tradesman. A lovely end to a wonderful weekend in Stalybridge.

Mobile Magpies

We also took part in the first ever farmers market to be held at Tameside Hospital on Tuesday 30th,which was very exciting. The market was a huge success, and we were really happy to be a part of it. The Magmobile has had its stock replenished and we have got some lovely new lines in addition to the wax lyrical candles and handmade bath products that we stock.

Currently at the time of publishing Nesta is due to be trading at the following events:

Millbrook Primary School Fete – Saturday 4th July.
Stalybridge Farmers Market – 12th July.
Ashton Farmers Market – 26th July.
Tameside Hospital Market – 28th July.

Pride of Tameside Business Awards

Later today we will be heading to the Village Hotel in Ashton for this years Pride of Tameside Business Awards, as Magpies Nest have been short listed as a finalist for the Retailer of the year Category. Its such a privilege to have been short listed, and we know from last year what a wonderful night these awards are, so we feel honoured to be a part of it again this year. We want to wish the other finalists for all categories good luck, especially our fellow Stalybridge businesses Florence & Amelias and Opus4.

New Bath Products

We have taken delivery of some more indulgent handmade bath truffles, new fragrances include Heavenly Heather, Cocoa Butter, and sparkling Almond Oil. We also have some new hand creams and soaps in classical floral fragrances, lavender, lilly of the valley and sweet pea and honey suckle, prices starting from £2 affordable quality gift ideas.
