International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is marked every year on the 8th March, it’s a chance to celebrate women’s achievements and to raise awareness about women’s equality. It is symbolised with 3 different colours, Purple signifies dignity and justice. Green symbolises hope and white represents purity. It was founded all the way back in 1908, with different countries celebrating the day differently. Some countries give their female employees half a day off, some women receive flowers.

So this International Women’s Day, we thought that we would share with you some of the brilliant women led brands that we stock in store.

First up is Katie Loxton, who as you may know, designs beautiful bags, pouches and scarves. What you may not know is that Kaite is also the lady behind our ever popular Joma Jewellery ranges. Both the Joma and Katie Loxton ranges are designed exclusively in the UK, with the aim of delivering little luxuries for yourself or loved one. We’ve recently got new lines in both of these ranges. In Joma we have the beautiful wellness gems bracelets, which would look perfect stacked with other Joma Bracelets. For Katie Loxton, we have extended into their stationery range (which is very exciting because we LOVE stationery)! Keep your eyes peeled too for the latest Spring Summer range from Katie Loxton which will be in store shortly.

We are also proud stockists of Powder Designs, these elaborate and colourful creations are definite of yours. The scarves, socks and now bags make for beautiful presents as they are presented in super pretty gift bags. Powder was founded in 2008, by Lisa, who has a passion for creating unique accessories for women to wear. What we love about the latest Powder range is that you can now match your scarf with your socks, even a shopper bag too if you wished!

A firm customer favourite is of course Wrendale, created by Hannah Dale. Hannah is inspired by her surroundings in Lincolnshire where she lives on a farm with her husband and their children. She started off by painting the Hare, who you might now know as Rowan! After the success of the hare painting on cards and such, Hannah started to paint other animals, which has now extended into the ranges we know and love today. We know how much you love Wrendale, so we took the executive decision to extend the range either further! You will be spoilt for choice when you see the super soft bamboo socks, new stationery lines and of course the new bags!

We love that we are able to stock brands that provide beautiful gifts or homewares for your or your loved ones, especially when they’re designed by such fabulous women. We hope that you enjoy International Women’s Day, why not have a look into these brands, and maybe drop some Mother’s Day hints!
