Scarf Show Success & Shamrocks!

Last week saw us host our first Spring & Summer Scarf show at our Stalybridge shop. We were very nervous about it as it was the first event of this type we have done in quite a few years.. those who have been following us for a while will remember when we used to have handbag shows quite regularly. I think the one everyone remembers was held at the Millpond – it was hugely popular.
This event wasn’t quite on the same scale, as we don’t have the same amount of space as the Millpond did! However since we closed the upper floor in our Stalybridge store 6 months ago, we have been mulling over what to do with it. We decided that we would use the space for events, and our scarf show was the first of many that we have planned for this year. The evening saw us give customers a first look at over 60 new scarves, and we had a scarf master class, which our customers said they found useful. We collected in our guests old scarves and will be donating these to the local women’s refuge. The scarves that are past their best will be recycled. A huge thanks to our lovely customers who came along and supported this event, we had a full house on the night and no one heckled us while demonstrating, which is always a good result!

One of the new scarf prints featured was the fab shamrock print which is featured in our St Patrick’s day window. Saint Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick, is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland (Thanks to Wikipedia 🙂 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Patrick%27s_Day) We have a little range of fun accessories or gifts if your heading out celebrating this weekend.

Creative Event
Our next event at the Nest is a creative showcase. Running from Monday 18th March until 22nd April. The first floor will be filled with wonderful products that are all handmade. You can pop up and have a look at these very talented people and buy their products any time during this period as the upper floor will be open all day everyday.
