Last week we won Retailer of the Year at the Pride of Tameside Business Awards. This is the third year we have won this award, and we wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all our customers for your continued support of our business. You can find out more about the awards night here: https://www.prideoftameside.co.uk/2018-winners Thank you also to the people who organise the event, its a great platform to showcase the best businesses from all sectors in the borough. It was a fantastic night, which we shared with fellow Stalybridge shop Petz World (They are having a new shop opening in Stalybridge on 17th November, worth popping in if you have fur babies) This week I’ve just finished sorting out the window displays at both stores this week. I always like to do a remembrance themed window, featuring our poppy products. Its something that always draws people’s eye when they are out shopping, for many different reasons. Whilst we are a retail business we are also a part of the local community, whether that is at Ashton or Stalybridge, and we always donate 10% of our sales from poppy products to the Royal British Legion each year. (You can view our range of Poppy products here https://magpiesnest.co.uk/product-category/seasonal-ranges/poppies-g/) We of course have a poppy box in both stores with poppies and collection boxes for people to make donations should they wish. Many people will and stop and admire our window over the next two weeks, many calling in to comment. Some will share their personal stories with us, others will be telling the younger generations about Remembrance Sunday and what it means. I am thankful for the brave men, women and animals that gave their lives for our future. The very least I can do as a shop keeper is honour them with a window display for a couple of weeks leading up to 11th November. Should it offend anyone, I make no apologies.
