Seasons of Change

The last few weeks have seen many changes at the Nest, with some of our long term “birds” flying the Nest. Our Katie left us after three years working as a Saturday girl. Katie has started at college and has gone on to work at Wetherspoons as they can offer her more shifts then we can.  To see how Katie has grown up and matured over the years has been wonderful. We all wish her the very best as she starts the next part of her life. Earlier this month we  also had to say good bye to our lovely Ashlie, as she left the Nest to start her legal career. Ashlie has been with us for two years, working the weekends and a few odd mid week shifts. I have to say Ashlie will be sorely missed with her passion for products (OK I mean passion for flamingos and Radley!) I am sure she will be an asset to her new employer and we all wish her the very best in her new job. We celebrated with a team meal at Deli Felice https://www.delifelice.com/ a lovely riverside coffee and wine bar. We have welcomed into the Nest our newest Magpie Adele, who is learning the ropes. She will be joined by a familiar face later this month when Sheila returns after her Summer working away in the Lake District. Other new things to mention would be that we have some new handmade creatives in the upstairs shop. Mo Jo Sew Sew who creates lovely applique purses and keyrings. We also have ceramics from Rachel Lees, and some needle crafts and sewing from Jilly Jaffacakes. Local lady Claire has been creating bows and paper quilled pictures hat are lovely. you really should pay a visit to our handmade shop if you haven’t been upstairs yet – its a haven of creativity. We are getting asked about Christmas – we will be doing our Christmas shop as usual, but not until a bit nearer the time. I have some beautiful Autumnal gifts and decorations, as well as our popular poppy products. Do call in for a look, our glittery pumpkins are amazing!https://magpiesnest.co.uk/product-category/halloween/ For those who simply can not wait for Christmas we have put some of our Christmas decoration online.https://magpiesnest.co.uk/product-category/christmas/ These can only be bought online – you can click and collect from the shop, but they are not on sale in the shop as they are currently in storage. We will be starting our month of fundraising for The Royal British Legion on the 12th October. We will be donating 10% of any of our poppy products to them.  https://magpiesnest.co.uk/product-category/halloween/
