Rosenthal Clutch Review

Classic, Quality and Affordable

This week the Pride of Tameside Business Awards was launched for 2015, which will see the best of the boroughs business recognised at a swanky black tie dinner at the Village Hotel in July.

Last year we were awarded the “Richard Nash Start Up Business of the Year” Award, which was a real honour. This year I have been asked to help judge this award category which is very exciting!

As one of the judges for this year’s awards I attended the launch event earlier this week, and it wasn’t long before my mind wandered and I was thinking back to the awards night. Ok, well I was thinking about how I could convince Matt Magpie that I needed another handbag. Then I realised that actually, I don’t. (See I CAN be sensible at times). I already own the perfect clutch bag. The Rosenthal Clutch and this week I thought I would do a review about it for you.

The Rosenthal is a classic styled soft leather clutch bag; and quite simply, this clutch bag should be an essential wardrobe piece for everyone. Made from beautiful soft leather, hand finished by highly skilled leather workers this is a perfect partner for any little black dress.

The bag is a half flap open clutch with a triple pleat on the top flap. The bag has a magnetic fastening and an internal zip pocket. The inside of the bag is lined in Yoshi material and it holds a considerable amount.

I have a confession to make with this bag, (and possibly a warning) I have got three of the colour options available, and it is by will power that I have not caved in and got the fourth option. Some of you will be wondering why have I felt the need to have three bags in the same style in different colours? Well, the truth is these are brilliant bags.

I don’t have a particularly fancy life and don’t often have reason to don a little black dress, but on the occasions I do this clutch looks perfect. As the design on the clutch is a classic timeless one, it always matches well with my outfits. It fits everything I need inside it, make up essentials, purse, mirror, a little fold away hair brush, mobile and keys. I find the zip pocket useful for storing my keys; I can’t lose them once they are zipped inside the bag.

I also particularly like this clutch because when I am not out in fancy places; I am usually out with friends for a bit of lunch at a local pub or maybe round at someone’s house for a bit of dinner, I still use this bag. It works equally well as a casual clutch. I think it could be because of its classic design; it gives casual outfits a lift, an air of understated glamour. Honestly, this bag with a pair of jeans and a shirt with some sandals or high heels looks ace.

The only problem with this bag is that Yoshi have only produced it in four colours, matt red, matt black, matt cream and the newest colour blackcurrant (which is the one I don’t have.. but boy, do I want it!).

Worse still, is that Yoshi look like they are discontinuing the colour options and reducing the lines to just the cream and black. Which I think is a real shame as the Blackcurrant colour is gorgeous and is the only one in the range to have a metallic sheen to it. It’s still the same soft leather but it sort of shimmers in the light. It’s very sumptuous.

The best bit about this clutch is its price tag, unbelievable value at £30. It looks and feels like it should be double this. However I am glad it’s not, otherwise I wouldn’t have been allowed three, and I definitely wouldn’t be able to add the fourth to my collection. Now I know they are reducing the colour options surely I have to get the fourth?! It’s almost collectible! I shall be speaking to Matt Magpie about this over the weekend as a matter of importance.
