Christmas Window Event

On Saturday 21st November we unveiled our Christmas window, with a little help from the local dance school: Sarah England school of dance.

This year’s theme was Swan Lake, and the ballerinas from the school came to help in their swan lake dance outfits form the ballet.

At 10am the music from Swan Lake filled the air as the ballerinas pulled back the curtain to unveil the window. They did an excellent job, despite the cold and wet.

We were also joined by St John’s Castle band from Droylsden, who helped create a festive feel to the morning by playing some Christmas carols across from the shop in the square, where we had set up a mulled wine and hot sandwich stand. So our customers could sit and enjoy the band with a mulled wine.

Sadly the snow we had ordered arrived a little after the ballerinas had opened the window, but we soon got the snow machine fired up and working and we had snow for the rest of the day, giving the event a real Christmas feel.

We had a special guest appearance from Tameside Councils Market Mascot Maggie the Magpie. She was on hand to help promote the towns farmers market and have her picture taken.. and you know a Magpie cant resist sparkly things! We had a fabulous day, and we know you enjoyed it.

We hope that you can make it to next year’s Christmas window event.
