Welcome to my first blog of 2016. Well, I use the word blog really loosely. This is the section of our business where I am supposed to keep you up to date with current trends, new arrivals and general happenings in Magpies Nest. Many of you will know I have a tendency to waffle, so one of my New Years Resolutions was to try to be more succinct. We will see how that goes, the rest of this post will be testament to my ability to not waffle. well, as much as usual!
January is a time of reflection for me, I enjoy the quiet after the busy Christmas period. I usually take a week out of the shop and look back at what worked well for the business in 2015 and what didn’t work out quite as well. The idea being that I can figure out ways to improve on the things that didn’t do very well, and make sure that the business keeps doing the things that did work.
The ultimate aim behind all this pondering and planning is to give you the customer the best possible experience when you shop at Magpies Nest. If you didn’t have a positive time when you visited our little shop, I really want to know why. Seriously, drop me a line and let me know what went wrong info@mymagpiesnest.com so I can make sure it doesn’t happen again.
One of the highlights from 2015 for Magpies Nest was winning the Pride of Tameside Retail Business of the Year 2015 back in June. Retail is a hard, competitive industry to operate in and high street retailing is dominated by big chains with huge buying powers. As a small independent it was fantastic to receive some recognition! There were of course a few little bumps along the way, but I think we managed to deal with them as they happened:)
Anyway, enough of the reminiscing, back to focussing on the here and now. I am implementing a few changes in the business that you should start to see over the next few months, all of which I hope will positively enhance your experience of shopping at Magpies Nest. For now though we are starting 2016 off with something that hopefully will make most of your smile:) January in Magpies Nest is SALE time!!
I am having a huge clear out and as a result have reduced loads of products. There are some massive savings on Yoshi, Radley and Tula handbags. The sale will run until the end of the month, hopefully this bit of news has brightened up a dreary January!
Well that’s it from me for now, I just want to thank you all again for your custom and support of my little shop and wish you all a happy, healthy and wealthy 2016….. I think I still need to work on my waffling…. 🙂
